  1. I especially liked that you included that last paragraph about the value of non-riding horse time. That's an important point that people should be aware of.

    However, the bulk of this post, which deals with methods for desensitizing a horse was very interesting. This was a subject with which I was not familiar and I really learned a lot reading it.

  3. Thanks Sean. I didn't know anything about that subject either, until I got a horse that spooked at everything! Turns out he was teaching me some important lessons of my own.

    I'll leave that story for another post, it's a long one!

    Next time you come out I'll show you some of the desensitizing I spoke of. We can use Scottie or Astro. Tango is so relaxed you'd see no reaction from him no matter what we did!

  4. Sounds wonderful. I love to learn new things. And I suppose that learning to feel your way around a horses comfort zone, and expanding on that comfort zone, is one of the best things to learn when it comes to establishing a good relationship with the horse.
